"REALITIES OF PLANNED GIVING AND ENDOWMENT FUNDRAISING AND THE BOARD’S ROLE IN MAKING IT HAPPEN"
Most Board members have no idea what they can do to promote gift plans other than to assign the task to an already overworked staff member. This session addresses the realities of planned gift fundraising, what it means internally and externally to the charity that engages in it proactively. Also covered is the role of the Board in such fundraising, what each member can and should do, individually and collectively, to start and then move the effort along, to keep it going as a continuing, proactive, forever goal for the charity. A Board member wears many hats: governance, volunteer, donor, advocate, public relations and with their peers, so they are pivotal. This program gives them concrete goals and activities that are both understandable and doable.
